This page is currently being redesigned following the recent departure of Chris and Fran.  Their work with Bristol Voices was very much appreciated by choir members and audiences, and we wish them well in their musical ventures.  As a tribute to their hard work and musical influence, the page will remain unchanged for a short time.

Chris Samuel and Fran Bolton are the Joint Musical Directors

They personally believe that everyone can sing - and specifically welcome people with all different ranges of experience, from absolute beginners to confident singers.

Chris Samuel is a full-time professional musician working with numerous different community groups, schools, businesses and choirs.

From one-off harmony workshops for schools or corporate clients to week-long singing holidays, he brings the same enthusiasm for open-access harmony singing to all of his teaching and he has worked with, amongst others, Bath Community Singers, the Gasworks Choir and Vocality - a Surrey based community choir.

As a performer with Naked Voices, he is a veteran of several Edinburgh Fringe runs as well as other festivals from Trowbridge to Prague and numerous theatres and arts centres across the country. For fun, he plays and sings with the small Country and Americana band "Bound for Tulsa".  He has also toured the UK on several occasions as part of the acclaimed Australian group, the Spooky Men's Chorale.

Chris can be contacted on 07971 918862.

Fran Bolton has been involved in running popular singing workshops for the last eight years at arts centres and festivals, and for singing groups around the country.

A qualified teacher who has worked in various schools over the last 15 years, she also has extensive experience as a singer, performing a wide ranging repertoire from Mozart to Motown.

Fran also runs an all-female Bristol based choir, the Stepford Singers.

Chris and Fran were both members of Naked Voices - a 16 piece a cappella group based in Bristol.
